| Rollover Injures One in Fort Oglethorpe FORT OGLETHORPE, GA – Just before 6:00 PM, Monday, February 15, 2010, Fort Oglethorpe Fire and Rescue responded to a reported rollover accident with entrapment on Battlefield Parkway at Pine Grove Road. Fire fighters arrived to find a Mazda Tribute on its top with one female patient trapped inside. While one firefighter climbed inside the vehicle through the back window to provide patient care, others stabilized the vehicle. Firefighters were unable to open the driver’s door because it was stuck into the ground. They used the hydraulic cutters to cut the frame of the door, allowing them to swing it open and remove the patient. She was transported by Angel EMS to Erlanger Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle involved, a Ford Focus, was uninjured. The accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol. The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control. |
